monday, 9 am, dublin

what a wonderful weekend! we got to brussels around 11 pm, i didnt see much of the city though because i left friday around 7 am. i took a train for about an hour and a half to paris and met a kid named steven at the platform. he took me everywhere-hes kind of cocky and annoying, but he knew exactly where to go on the metro. so we went to the louvre and mona lisa, arc de triomphe, picasso museum, rodin museum (where the thinker is) champs elysees, latin quartier, notre dame cathedral, river seine, sacre couer chapel, ile de cite, montmartre and the hard rock cafe for dinner. we got home at like 11, just in time to see the eiffel tower light show right outside the hotel window. saturday i was up early to meet my arcadia roommate and her friend at the airport (i got there all by myself too!) unfortunately, we lost kate on the metro, so we waited like 2 hours for her at the hostel. by the time we got out, it was around 5 pm. we went to the eiffel tower and stood in line for the lift. finally we got to the top. it was amazing! it was just so cool to be standing on the eiffel tower. when we were coming down all these firefighters were rushing up and when we came down everyone was pushed back. we looked up and there was some crazy guy scaling down the tower! they had to shut it down for like 3 hours while he made his way down. the girls and i took a boat tour down the seine and when we came back around 10 pm, he was still climbing. we went out to dinner and came back to see the sparkle show and finally they let everyone back in around 11 pm. i met up with maureen (who i came with) back at our hotel and everything was wonderful. sunday was relaxing. maureen and i went to mass at notre dame, the organ was heartstopping. then we found the tour de france on the rue rivoli. we found out they would be coming around at 4 pm and they would circle 6 times around. so we waited about 2 hours for them and finally they came around..it was so exciting! they went by so fast, but i got a really good picture of lance (check it on the site) then we just went shopping for some souvenirs and got on a train back to brussels. our plane left monday morning at 9:15 and we were back at home around 11:30. i had such a great time! the weather was amazing, it was 87 degrees and sunny. i wasnt jealous of lauren anymore! i really got by with the french i remembered from dougherty. i did pretty good actually (that french award came in handy.) now we are back at school and have to go to our acting workshop again (a lot of people are skipping it, but i really liked it last time!) anyway, i will be home so soon its not even funny. i cant wait!
love and miss you

Hi Bridget,
Wow, I just got home from work, sat down - and viewed all of your pictures. Beautiful job, especially of the cliffs and the Eiffel Tower, I can't believe how much you were able to see in one short weekend. Must be kinda boring back in Dublin? Not much new here - Dad and Lauren picked up your car from Mrs.Maxwell's apt in Delaire Landing today. They are not home, so must be out shopping for food or something. I am going to get changed and relax in front of the TV without my laptop. First time in a few months...Everyone says hi and asks how you are doing. Carmen wants to be sure you take care of Jennifer at the orientation coming up. Stay safe and enjoy the time left - still have 1 1/2 weeks! Nana is now at Camp Flannery and headed home this weekend. I am thinking of going up to get you with Dad and Lauren - but I don't want to go to a Mets game first - so we'll have to see what they plan. How is Sean doing w/o you? Staying busy and working hard, I suppose. Would he like to come with Dad to pick you up or meet you here - or should we have a little get together on Sunday? Do you thinkk you'll be up for it? Let us know. Of course, Lauren will say, I didn't have any "parties" for her when she came home from Aunt Pat's.

Keep bloggin us, we love to find your messages first thing in the morning when we go into your room. Say hi to the roomies!
Oh, Dad is tracking the package.
